McAllen Town Band

Tonight was the final concert in the McAllen Town Band for this season. John and Sandy had saved us seats so we were able to get into the center section of seats.  Jan and Steve, Hal and Dorothy, John and Sandy and Hardy and I were all together.  We did not see Ken and Lee until the break and they were above us in the balcony.

The concert was great as usual but "Satchmo" which was a medley of Louis Armstrong  and the "Trumpeter's Lullaby" were special.  A local high school student played the "Trumpeter's Lullaby" and he was fantastic.  There sure is a lot of talent in the Rio Grande Valley and we especially like it when the young people perform.  This group of band members is made up of local folks who still enjoy playing their instruments.  Here is a picture I copied from Ken and Lee showing our group in the center waving to Ken and Lee.
